Event description:
The aim of the IT day is:
- To provide an opportunity for blind & visually impaired people to explore what is available to help them access IT
- To learn about the benefits of IT for blind and visually impaired people & its potential for increasing independence - eg. re producing legible written communications, reading, contact with others, shopping, banking, research, study, making travel plans etc.
- To meet other visually impaired people and become inspired by their achievements
- To find out about IT support, clubs, classes etc around Bedfordshire
Available throughout the day:
- Refreshments
- Equipment & software to try out
- Advice, information and demonstrations from suppliers
- Advice, guidance & support from IT club volunteers
- Talking to other visually impaired or blind IT users
In addition:
There will be a programme of brief introductory presentations by volunteers (visually impaired & sighted), suppliers and other Visually impaired people.
