Description:
When attempting to install one of the above named products, you may receive the following error message during the installation process:"n error -5006:ox80070057 has occurred while running the setup. Please make sure you have finished any previous setup and closed any other applications. If the error still occurs, please contact your vendor..:" The error message would generally display during the part of the installation where the Microsoft DCM (Driver Chain Manager) component is being installed.
Solution/workaround:
This is not a Dolphin product error message.
The problem is most likely due to issues with Group Policy or installation account restrictions, however it could also be as a result of a previous Install Shield installation having failed and Install Shield will not continue with another installation.
This error message will also be displayed if you try and install Microsoft DCM separately. This component can be downloaded from Microsoft using the following link:
http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/default.asp?url=/library/en-us/dnacc/html/atg_driverchain.asp
...or by searching the Microsoft MSDN website for "Driver Chain Manager".
As this is not a Dolphin product error, should you require additional technical support for this issue, please contact Microsoft directly.
