I use magnification only and cannot type into edit boxes on websites such as Google
Applies to:
- SuperNova Access Suite
- SuperNova Magnifier
- SuperNova Reader Magnifier
Description:
By default, SuperNova turns on the Dolphin Cursor when you visit a web page. The Dolphin cursor is a special kind of cursor created by SuperNova. The Dolphin Cursor allows you to read the contents of a web page line by line, or word by word, or letter by letter using your keyboard.
Solution/workaround:
You can enter text into an edit box by moving the mouse pointer to the edit box and then pressing the LEFT CLICK button. SuperNova turns on Forms Mode, which allows you to enter text into the box. When you move the focus away from the edit box the Dolphin cursor turns on again.
If you prefer not to use the Dolphin Cursor when browsing web pages, then you can turn off the automatic use of the Dolphin Cursor. You do this by deselecting the “Use Dolphin Cursor automatically” check box in the SuperNova control panel.
To do this:
1. Press LEFT CONTROL + SPACEBAR. The SuperNova control panel opens.
2. Press ALT + S. The “Speech” menu opens.
3. DOWN ARROW to “Advanced Options” and press ENTER. The “Speech Advanced Options” dialog box opens. In this dialog box, the first page is the “Cursor” page. The first item is the “Use Dolphin Cursor automatically” check box.
4. Press SPACEBAR. The check box deselects.
5. TAB to the “OK” button and press SPACEBAR. SuperNova saves the change. The dialog box closes.
6. Press ESCAPE. The SuperNova control panel closes.
