SuperNova starts up with an error “Invalid Parameter dol_bb”
Applies to:
- SuperNova Access Suite
- SuperNova Magnifier
- SuperNova Reader Magnifier
- SuperNova Screen Reader
Description:
When attempting to launch Supernova, the software fails to load and displays an error message referencing”dol_bb”
Solution/workaround:
This can occur if for some reason the "Product Improvement Programme" (PIP) anonymous usage information has failed to be sent successfully to Dolphin. You can resolve this issue by removing the unsent PIP files from the computer.
To do this:
1. Open the Start menu and choose "Computer"
2. Open "Local Disk C:"
3. Open the folder called "Users"
4. Open the folder called "AppData"
5. Open the folder called "Temp"
6. Locate the folder called "PIP": and delete it. Supernova will create a new one the next time it starts.
TIP: If you do not have a folder called "AppData" when you reach step 4 above, ensure the option "Show Hidden Files and Folders" is turned on. This can be found in the "Tools" menu under the "Folder Options" item. In the "Folder Options" dialog box choose the "View" page to enable this option.
