Solution/workaround:

1. Windows Live Mail

Current version release: 2011
Latest version of SuperNova tested: 12.06
Operating systems tested: Windows 7 32 and 64 bit.
Current Map file: Windows Live Mail v1.07.dtl
Available From: https://ieonline.microsoft.com/#ieslice

Windows Live Mail is a free email client from Microsoft. It is considered to be the successor to "Windows Mail" which was bundled with Windows Vista, and Outlook Express, which was included with Windows XP. Windows Live Mail is not included in Windows 7 and instead needs to be downloaded from the link provided above.

Folder List

Supernova will speak and Braille the folder list as you ARROW UP and DOWN the tree.

Message List

Supernova will announce the message state (open, unread) of each message as you ARROW UP and DOWN the list. It will also announce the sender, subject line and date received.

Reading Messages

Supernova will speak and Braille incoming email messages using the Dolphin Cursor. This will turn on automatically when an email message is opened. The message can be read line by line or using the continuous "Read from Here" feature.

Open Attachments

When you are reading a message that contains attachments, you can move the focus to the area containing the attachments by pressing the following hot key:

CAPS LOCK + A

Composing Messages

When composing a message, Supernova will announce the various field names when tabbing through the new message window, for example, subject, To and CC:. It will also announce "Write" when you tab into the main message body. Both Character and Word Echo are supported when typing into these fields.

  • Occasionally the speech may start reading from the start of the current line when typing. This is a known issue and is currently being investigated.

Contacts

Supernova will speak and Braille the Contacts list, both in the main Contacts windows and also when pressing to "To" button when composing a new message and picking a contact to send the message to.

  • The "Autocomplete" drop-down list of contacts that appears when you start to type in the "To" field does not speak or Braille at the current time.

If you would like to add the email address of a message you are reading to your contacts, you can do this by pressing the following Supernova hot key:

CAPS LOCK + C

Calendar

The calendar is not supported using the map file version named above.

Search Box
