KNOWN ISSUE: Magnification does not track the focus whilst typing in edit fields in Windows Internet Explorer, and speech does not echo the characters or words that are typed.

Applies to:

  • SuperNova Access Suite
  • SuperNova Magnifier
  • SuperNova Reader Magnifier
  • SuperNova Screen Reader

Description:

When you are typing into an edit box such as an email or web form using Internet Explorer and SuperNova 13.01, the magnification does not follow the cursor as you type, and speech may not read the text being typed.

Solution/workaround:

This issue may occur when the following statements are true:

1.       The “Automatic Dolphin Cursor” is turned OFF. This option exists in SuperNova Screen reader and SuperNova Access Suite, found under the “Advanced Options” item within the “Speech” menu of the SuperNova Control Panel. SuperNova Reader Magnifier does not have this feature and therefore the Automatic Dolphin Cursor will always be turned off in SuperNova Reader Magnifier.

2.       The mouse pointer is positioned over a hyperlink or button whilst you are typing.

This issue is expected to be fixed in the forthcoming 13.02 update patch. Please contact Dolphin to enquire as to the release date of this update, or choose “Check for Updates” found in the “Help” menu of the SuperNova Control Panel.

You can work around the issue by either moving the mouse away from the link or button it is hovering over, or (if running SuperNova Access Suite or SuperNova Screen Reader) turn the “Automatic Dolphin Cursor” on.
