KNOWN ISSUE: Unable to access a web based FTP location in Internet Explorer
Applies to:
- SuperNova Access Suite
- SuperNova Magnifier
- SuperNova Screen Reader
Description:
When you attempt to access some FTP locations using Internet Explorer, the web page continually refreshes when SuperNova 13.01 is running.
Solution/workaround:
This is a known issue with some FTP sites and will occur when running SuperNova 13.01 whilst accessing the FTP site through the Windows Internet Explorer web browser.
This issue is expected to be fixed in the forthcoming 13.02 update patch. Please contact Dolphin to enquire as to the release date of this update, or choose “Check for Updates” found in the “Help” menu of the SuperNova Control Panel.
If you are using magnification and do not require use of the screen reader, you can work around the problem by changing the SuperNova map file. Please note that doing so will reduce functionality in the screen reader aspects of SuperNova however.
To do this:
1. Click on any blank area of the website to make sure Internet Explorer has the focus.
2. Press LEFT CONTROL + SPACEBAR. The Supernova Control Panel opens.
3. Press ALT + F. The "File" menu opens,
4. Use the UP and DOWN ARROW keys to select "New" and press ENTER. A sub menu opens.
5. Use the UP and DOWN ARROW keys to select "Map" and press ENTER. The "Select Map File" dialog box opens.
6. Use the UP and DOWN ARROW keys to select the "Use an existing map file" radio.
7. TAB to the list of available map files.
8. Use the UP and DOWN ARROW keys to select the item called "Internet Explorer 5.0 v2.02".
9. TAB to the "OK" button and press ENTER. This will close the dialog box and confirm your changes.
10. Close Internet Explorer and then open again. The problem should now be gone.
