New Dolphin Products Warmly received at ATIA

EasyConverter and Smart Hal unveiled in Orlando, Florida.

26th Jan, 2007

New alternative format and mobile access solutions from Dolphin Computer Access were attracting considerable interest amongst visitors to the 8th annual conference and exhibition hosted by the Assistive Technology Industry Association held this week in Orlando, Florida.

  • EasyConverter cuts through the confusing array of file formats by offering an intuitive one stop solution enabling businesses and educational institutions to both meet and exceed the requirements of disability legislation.  Breaking down the barriers to information access and the difficulties associated with providing material in multiple formats, EasyConverter is a straightforward yet powerful conversion tool enabling scanned documents, Microsoft Word files, PDFs, web pages etc.  to be instantly turned into DAISY Digital Talking Books, Braille, MP3, large print or ASCII text at the click of a button.
  • Smart Hal empowers an individual with little or no usable vision to take control of their mobile telephone by reading the screen contents out loud using high quality synthetic speech.  Hear who's calling before answering, review recent dialled received and missed call lists, check battery and signal strength, read and write text messages and emails, adjust phone settings such as ring tones and alarms, create and retrieve calendar entries, perform simple calculations, listen to audio, record voice notes, take advantage of the mobile web plus much more.  Smart Hal makes all the features found on a modern windows Mobile Smartphone fully accessible for people who are blind.
