Now version 2.10, Publisher boasts a huge list of added benefits for both the author and the Digital Talking Book reader.
Users of Dolphin Publisher 2.02 are highly recommended to upgrade to version 2.10 to take advantage of the following benefits:
- Now includes the latest version of our popular DAISY player - EasyReader version 2.30 with new features. (NOTE: It is no problem to have an older version of EasyReader installed on the computer while the latest version is installed with Publisher).
- Is it hard to keep track of the dongle – product activation is the solution.
Publisher no longer uses a dongle for copy protection, this protection is now achieved by software protection instead. This allows users to run a free 30 day trial of the software without a license. - Dolphin Publisher 2.10 supports the latest standard (Z39.86-2005) as type 1 and 2 DTBs.
- If Microsoft Word 2002 or later exists on the machine, Publisher is able to convert DOC and RTF files when the user adds new documents to the DTB.
- A TTS pronouncement lexicon and editor is now included together with the TTS feature. When you create DAISY with speech synthesis it is a huge advantage to be able to correct the pronunciation of selected words. For example, proper nouns such as your product or company name may be pronounced incorrectly.
- We wanted to improve the naming of the DTB's audio files, now the user can choose to translate selected, special characters to valid characters for a DTB. E.g: umlaut characters. This makes the file names more understandable when e.g. displaying the file names on an MP3 player.
- When the narrators reach the end of a heading, pressing the "synch text" button automatically navigates you to the "next heading". Publisher takes care of the navigation and automatically starts the recording. This is very convenient for the narrator, as they can now narrate the whole DTB, without unnecessary navigations and pauses.
- To improve flexibility when working with audio files, it is now easy to re-order the audio files up and down in the list.
