Shannon Cary describes how she is using Smart Hal to make her life easier
2nd Jul, 2007
Busy with life, travel, and work, Shannon Cary has no time to deal with technology that isn’t up to her standards. Working in public relations for the largest computer and technology companies in the world, Shannon knows the best, and she demands the best from her technology. To keep her connected to work and life, Shannon chose Smart Hal.
Shannon doesn’t just use her phone, a T-Mobile Dash with Windows Mobile 6, she lives with it. When asked where she would be without her handset, she simply said, “Panicked.”
“I use the phone for both business and personal,” Shannon says, “I sync it with my outlook and calendar. It’s helpful especially when I’m travelling to see quickly what issues may come up.”
On the road often for her job, Shannon uses the Smartphone for many of its more sophisticated features including reading and responding to email. She also says, “I use the internet for quick checks of the weather and travel.”
But what does she like most about Smart Hal? “I like that it’s Hal. It has a lot of familiar things that I’m used to on my laptop and desktop.” Shannon says, “I love that it has the typical Hal map files with Application notes so I know the hot keys and special features in a program.”
A Hal user since 2000, Shannon used Hal because it was the first screen reader to be available on the newest operating system. Then she grew to love it and says, “I just think, overall it's better.”
Dolphin has continued its tradition of creating accessible solutions for the latest Windows releases, keeping up with those on top of technology. Even the newest Windows Mobile 6 platform proves no problem for Smart Hal, so people like Shannon Cary don’t have to be “panicked.”
