Join the Dolphin Windows 7 public beta programme

Version 11 of SuperNova, Hal, Lunar and LunarPlus all include public beta support for the next Microsoft operating system, Windows 7. So if you fancy road testing Windows 7 and version 11, then the Dolphin Public beta programme is your chance to get involved.

Just like Microsoft, Dolphin has already conducted many months of private beta testing, but we want to hear more from other Windows 7 release candidate users.  So if you'd like to put version 11 through its paces and send us your valued feedback, follow these 4 easy steps:

  1. Download the Windows 7 release candidate
  2. Download a version 11 demo or buy an upgrade
  3. Send us your feedback
  4. Keep testing!
    As your feedback comes through, we’ll be making improvements and fixes.  You will automatically receive these fixes via the Dolphin Internet updater

What feedback are Dolphin looking for?

All feedback and information is helpful, but we particularly want to know about:

  • Areas that aren't speaking
  • Any tracking issues
  • Areas that aren't Brailling correctly
  • Performance issues whilst conducting your everyday computer activities
  • Issues with core Windows functionality e.g. navigating the desktop etc
  • Accessibility of new Windows 7 features

How do I send my feedback?

  1. Opt-in to the Product Improvement Programme
    The Dolphin Product Improvement Programme is already included in your version 11 trial software or licensed software, all you need to is opt-in. You can easily opt-in or opt-out at any time by simply clicking on the "Help" menu within the control panel of your Dolphin software and then scrolling down and selecting "Customer Feedback". Opting in ensures Dolphin will automatically receive data about performance and usage.
  2. Email us
    Send us your Windows 7 public beta test feedback via email to support@dolphinuk.co.uk using the email subject line "Windows 7". Please include as much detail as possible including:
    • Your Windows 7 language and build number
    • Brief details of your hardware including processor, memory and graphics card details
    • Dolphin software version and build number (found in the About box in the Help menu)
    • Your Dolphin software serial number
    • Synthesiser details
    • Braille display details
    • Details of any other access technology on the same PC
    • Basic application information
  3. Error Logging
    If a Dolphin related error occurs, your Dolphin software may prompt you to provide extra details. Please send us as much information as you can about what you were doing when the error occurred and which applications were running. All of this data remains anonymous, however if you are happy for an engineer to get in touch should they have any further questions, please do include your email address.
