Let’s get pen friendly!

Make any PC accessible

Imagine if you could walk into any Internet café or library and instantly have your preferred access software running with your own display and speech settings, within seconds of sitting in front of the computer. Alternatively, think how useful it would be if at college or work you could use any computer in the organisation.

Whilst this may sound impossible today, from next month this will be possible when Dolphin introduce our "Dolphin Pen Friendly" initiative.

How does it work?

Unlike traditional screen access products, the Dolphin Pen runs from a USB Pen Drive - a small portable device just six centimetres long that plugs straight into the USB slot of a "Dolphin Pen Friendly" computer. This allows a user to carry their preferred settings with them to any PC and run Supernova, Hal or Lunar without the need to install the full product, and without the need to configure their preferred settings each time. All user configuration preferences are saved back to the Dolphin Pen and as such are portable.

It costs nothing for an organisation to make their computers "Dolphin Pen Friendly", all that is needed is to install the FREE Dolphin Interceptor (to be available from our website), containing Microsoft’s DCM (Display Chain Manager). This small file can be included in a computer image, loaded over the network or simply loaded onto a local machine. Where Microsoft’s DCM is available, clients can walk up to any computer and run their Dolphin Pen without the need for any configuration or assistance whatsoever.

For a small cost, Dolphin can provide participating organisations with "Pen Friendly" window stickers and Quick Reference Guides in their preferred language so that they can confidently welcome anyone with a Dolphin Pen.

More information on the Dolphin Pen will be available soon.
