Dolphin presents SAGE with JISC TechDis Award for library service
SAGE, a leading international publisher of journals, books, and electronic media has won the inaugural JISC TechDis Publisher Lookup Award for library service

The award recognises publishers who have been nominated by library staff for their excellent service in supplying books in alternative formats. SAGE received the award at the CILIP Digital Information Conference in London on Thursday, 28th October 2010.
The JISC TechDis Publisher Lookup Awards are the brainchild of Alistair McNaught, senior advisor at JISC TechDis. Alistair said:
There was a really strong field of candidates. Judges were impressed by the sheer number of nominations for SAGE by library staff and the glowing feedback that highlighted their responsiveness, exemplary standards of service and commitment to end users."
The JISC TechDis Publisher Lookup Awards were presented by Peter Griffiths, Past President, CILIP and former Head of Information at The Home Office and sponsored by Dolphin Computer Access and iansyst Ltd, organisations that promote independence amongst disabled people, and who have been keen supporters of the awards from the beginning.
Ian Litterick, Executive Chairman at iansyst Ltd commented:

Publisher Lookup is making some fantastic progress by enabling schools and libraries to quickly source electronic versions of books from Publishers. Readers with visual impairments and dyslexia cannot just pick up a printed copy of a book; they need an electronic version. These awards show the great commitment made by a number of Publishers and set a great example for others to follow."

Publishers Hodder Education and Wiley-Blackwell, also present at the awards ceremony, were both highly commended for their excellent service, consistently good response rates and willingness to provide materials on request and received commemorative plaques.
