Dolphin staff play blind cricket

16th May, 2011

Team A captained by Aj Ahmed lost the toss and were put in to bat. A winning partnership of 37 between the Scouse skipper and Hall took the side to 55 runs. Team A's total would have been higher were it not for Mike Fawson's bowling, the man from Malvern bagging himself at least 1 maden over.

A miscommunication frustrated Williams who was runout for a duck. Team B's Leanne Munn defended her wicket well staying at the crease for half the second inning. Kitchen and Pearson made a proper job of fielding, several catches taking Ahmed to a hat-trick of wickets. Without their runs, there would be no way back for Team B. A late batting display from Geoff Owen averted a complete humiliation bringing the smaller team within 25 of the target.

Team A (total 55 runs): Ahmed (captain), Hall, Pearson, Meszar, Kitchen, Burrows, Bowden, Salisbury, Hodgson.

Team B (total 31 runs): Williams (Captain), Fawson, Shaw, Owen, Shales, Grant, Munn, McBride.
