Can I add notes to a digital talking book to highlight areas of interest?

Yes you can. Using the intuitive EasyReader user interface, you can simply click on the bookmark icon (or use the hotkey Ctrl + B) to open the ‘add a bookmark’ window. From this window you can enter a simple text bookmark, or if you have a microphone connected to your PC, you can select the ‘Audio Note’ button to record an audio bookmark. You can easily navigate through your bookmarks by pressing Ctrl + Shift + Down (to navigate to the previous bookmark) or Down (to navigate to the next bookmark).
