EasyReader Express FAQ
How does adding EasyReader Express work?
Content providers can add EasyReader Express to their talking book on the “Add EasyReader Express” website. The “Add EasyReader Express” website guides the user to generating a set of files which can be added to a folder containing the talking book files. The files the “Add EasyReader Express” website generates include:
DERE.exe: this is the version of EasyReader Express which will open to play the talking book content
ER_Lock.dat: this file contains a unique lock code which “locks” EasyReader Express to the specific file that the content provider uploaded to the website. This lock file ensures that EasyReader Express will only open the specific file to which it is associated.
Autorun.inf: this is a file read by PCs to provide an option to automatically open the content in EasyReader Express. Reader can also play the content in their own talking book software or hardware player.
Dolphin.ico: This is the icon associated with EasyReader Express
These four files must be added to the folder in which the talking book is contained. Once the four files are added, the talking book can be distributed, which readers can open in EasyReader Express.
