Text Style Announcements
Text Style Announcements allow you to customise the speech feedback given in different areas of your screen, or when using certain speech features.
For instance, when writing your own documents you may decide you want to hear all punctuation information. But whilst browsing the web, you may only want to hear the link that you are on; punctuation information such as capitals and the font changes are not of interest to you.
Each of these text style announcements can then be controlled in the 5 following areas or speech features:
- Edit Areas - any control with a flashing beam cursor.
- Prompt Areas - any other text which is not in edit areas or menus.
- Menus - any pop-up or pull-down menu.
- Read From Here - popular when reviewing documents
- Dolphin Cursor - most commonly used when browsing the web
Text Style announcements give you control over the:
- Punctuation
- Font attributes (depending on your access product)
- How numbers are spoken

5 ready-made punctuation levels are ready for you to choose from, ranging from 'no punctuation' to 'all punctuation'. A different punctuation level can be chosen for each of the 5 text style announcement areas.

Numbers can be announced as digits, pairs or as words and can be chosen for each of the 5 punctuation levels, in each of the 5 text style announcement areas.
