Ida is studying a part-time distance learning course at Gothenburg University. Gothenburg University offers various facilities to its students with disabilities, including the use of Dolphin EasyProducer and EasyReader.
Ida has problems with her attention, working memory, visual perception and has a heightened sensitivity to change. To assist with her studies, Ida has been using EasyReader for a few years to read DAISY talking books, and is now also using EasyProducer to read Microsoft Word files and create her own DAISY materials.
With the help of EasyProducer, Ida has the choice to read her Word files with EasyProducer's built in text-to-speech, and also create DAISY books of Word files quickly and easily. For shorter texts of a few A4 pages, Ida prefers to listen to and read the text in Microsoft Word using EasyProducer's built in text-to-speech. For longer texts, Ida uses EasyProducer to create a DAISY talking book, ready to playback in the EasyReader, or on a DAISY player, such as Victor Reader Stream.
Ida explains how she uses EasyProducer and the difference it makes to her studies: 
I use EasyProducer to read text in Word, which I mostly copy from the Internet, for example National encyclopedia or any website with scientific texts dealing with the information in my studies. Sometimes I even read downloaded HTML documents that I open the Word and read with EasyProducer."

It works very well when I write assignments and take-home exams, group work and more. EasyProducer has definitely made Word more useful for me."
