Delivering a state of the art DAISY service.
Sheffield Talking Newspapers have been offering a DAISY service to their customers since February 2006. A DAISY publication (Digital Accessible Information System), is a form of electronic publication which brings together text, audio and images into a single accessible, navigable digital talking book. It contains all of the features of an audio publication but can also include the benefits of full text, allowing navigation, as well as search and find features and the ability to add bookmarks and footnotes.
Sheffield Talking Newspapers are using Dolphin’s latest Publisher authoring tool to create audio only DAISY publications, which can be played back using a range of hardware players and Dolphin’s EasyReader software DAISY player. The publications can also be played back on standard MP3 players.
