Read the transcript of video: Students love using EasyReader
I must say that the students really like EasyReader.
They like to convert longer documents into digital talking books; obviously it’s much easier to listen to the talking book. Partially sighted students do like the colour highlighting as it reads through the text. Again they've used the hotkeys to move around the screen, and they particularly like for English to annotate the texts so they've got bookmarks there that they can refer back to.
I see this as a huge potential when they go into years ten and eleven and are studying GCSE subjects.
We have been encouraging the English department to try and give us the texts in advance so that we can download them and put it straight on to the student laptops, and the students can convert it themselves, save it in a folder and refer back to that in the future.
So the students have been very positive about learning to use EasyReader, and as I can, they also see the potential for the future.
